Lampshade Making

Learn the art of lampshade making in this fun workshop.

Create the perfect piece for your home or why not make one as a gift!

This workshop is perfect for anyone who loves to craft.

You will leave with a completed lampshade and all the skills and knowledge you need to make more at home.

What is included:

• 1 x 30cm lampshade kit per person
• Use of all tools needed
• Expert tuition
• Helpful handouts to take home.

Please Note: Participants will need to bring along the fabric for their lampshades. A cotton or linen of light-medium weight is the best. Choose a funky print for a real statement piece or select something more subtle for a more classic look. You will need about half a metre (100cm wide by 26cm long minimum). If the fabric’s print is directional, the longer measurement must fit horizontally across the design. Fabric can be supplied for an extra charge.

£20 per person (Min. 8). 2.5 hours.

This project works well with Fabric Covered Clocks and these workshops can be booked together to create a longer session for £35 per participant (min 8).

Fabric Covered Clocks

Fabric covered clocks are a great addition to any home as they can be covered in fabric with any print you like. Customize with your decor, match to your office or give as a gift to a friend!

Kym will guide you step by step in making a fabric-covered clock showing you all the tips and tricks to create a super neat professional finish.

What is included:

• Clock kit with black or white hands.
• An AA battery to make it tick!
• Use of tools to complete the project
• Kym’s expert guidance and advice

Please Note: Participants will need to bring or buy your own fabric to cover your clock. You will need a piece of woven material (no stretch) at least 34cm x 34cm… a Fat Quarter works well. Quilting Cotton is perfect for this project. If your fabric has a complex pattern, you may need a little more fabric to get the best placement for your clock. Fabric can be supplied for an extra charge.

Fabric covered lanterns are a great addition to any home as they can be covered in fabric with any print you like. Customize with your decor, match to your office or give as a gift to a friend!

Kym will guide you step by step in making a trio of fabric-covered lanterns showing you all the tips and tricks to create a super neat professional finish.

What is included:

• 3x lantern kits.
• 3x battery operated flicker tealights
• Use of tools to complete the project
• Kym’s expert guidance and advice

Please Note: Participants will need to bring or buy their own fabric to cover their lanterns. Woven material (no stretch) like quilting Cotton is perfect for this project. Each lantern requires a piece of fabric 35cm wide x 15cm. You can choose the same fabric for all three of your lanterns or three different designs. Fat quarters work well. Fabric can be supplied for an extra charge.

Macrame Wall Hanging

The art of ‘posh knot tying’ is back!

Macramé was the “go-to” craft of the 1970s and has made a comeback in recent years. The simple but effective way to decorate your home.

Using an original MAKE! The Lakes design, Kym will guide you step by step in making your very own wall hanging. She will make sure it is only your Macramé that gets tied up in knots… pretty ones!

The ideal project for beginners. You will transform your lengths of rope into a stylish wall hanging in no time and will leave inspired to make all things macramé at home.

Crackers have been a traditional part of the British Christmas since the Victorian times and are perfect for adding a handmade flourish to your table decorations.

In this workshop you will:
