10am – 4pm
Ravenglass Village Hall
Have fun stitching up a sweet little dress in this day workshop with Kym.
Children’s clothes are perfect for honing your dressmaking skills… and they are so cute to make!
This class will teach you how to read a dressmaking pattern, choose the correct size, cut your fabric and stitch a girl’s dress.
It incorporates lots of skill and techniques that are excellent learning practice for making adult-sized garments.
You will leave the workshop with a lovely little dress, the pattern (to make it in every colour!), and all the knowledge and confidence to sew more clothes at home!
Choose from sizes 0-6 months up to 12 years!
What is included:
- A copy of the Geranium Dress pattern from Made By Rae to work on in the workshop.
- Notions for making your skirt (interfacing and snap fasteners)
- Kym’s expert guidance and company for the day 🙂
- A copy of the full pattern and instructions – emailed to you as a PDF after the workshop.
- Plenty of Tea, Coffee and biscuits to keep you going throughout the day.
- Homemade Cake!
You will need to bring your sewing machine and the fabric and matching thread for your dress. All other materials and tools will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch (or this can be ordered as an extra after booking if you prefer).
SKILL LEVEL: This is a beginner dressmaking workshop for those who are new to dressmaking (or needing a refresher) however, you should already know how to use your sewing machine. It is also perfect for those who have completed a few dressmaking projects already and wish to enhance their skills.
Depending on how quickly you sew, there may be a little finishing off to do at home. You will leave with all the knowledge you need to continue if this is the case.
If you are new to using a sewing machine but are interested in this class, please contact Kym for some more information. Get in touch here or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Likewise, if you do not have your own machine, there may be the option to hire one during the workshop. Please check before booking whether a machine would be available for you to use.
